BIOGRAPHY
Adithya (Adi) Muralidharan is a cellist known for his nuanced and expressive playing style and intuitive ability to connect with audiences. He has been awarded prizes in the Music Teachers National Association competition, Euterpe Music Festival, Music Academy of North Carolina competition, and the NC Symphony Youth Concerto Competition, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a Masters in Music and Graduate Diploma in Cello Performance from New England Conservatory. He was awarded a fellowship position with the NC Chamber Music of the Triangle Chamber Orchestra during their 2019-2020 season, and was awarded first place in the Prague Summer Nights Concerto competition. Adi has performed for Paul Watkins, Paul Neubauer, Violaine Melançon, Matt Haimovitz, Zuill Bailey, Natasha Brosfky, Tamas Varga, Julian Schwartz, and others. His NEC-founded quartet, the Aperta Quartet, performs at schools, libraries, and spaces with limited music programs to promote music education across the U.S. Adi believes that music should be accessible to anyone who loves to listen, and dedicates himself to bringing high caliber performances to his community. During his free time, he reads, writes poetry, creates mandalas, plays sports, and bakes!
